Pinwheels catch the wind near where Nathan Imhoff, center, stands with fellow Flathead High School students Tuesday on the lawn adjacent to the old county courthouse building in downtown Kalispell on Tuesday. Art students from Flathead decorated and planted hundreds of pinwheels throughout the rainy day as a part of the Pinwheels for Peace project and to celebrate International Day of Peace. The pinwheels – traditionally viewed childhood symbol – were meant to make a visual statement about peace, tolerance, cooperation, harmony and unity.
