Dominique StraussKahn Marries Moroccan Partner Myriam LAouffir in Marrakech

Rabat –  Dominique Strauss-Kahan, former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) married his partner of Moroccan decent Myriam L’Aouffir late weekend in Marrakech after a five-year relationship, reported French news platform le Parisien.The news was confirmed by a relative of DSK, who told the paper, “Yes, he was married to Myriam in Marrakech, where they live.”The 68-year old politician had been married three times before his marriage to L’Aouffir. The couple made their relationship official in May 2013, appearing together at the Cannes Film Festival. In September 2014, Strauss-Kahn and L’Aouffir had yet again appeared at the American Film Festival in Deauville, according to the news outlet Paris Match.Strauss-Kahn, who is also a former French finance minister, met with l’Aouffir at an evening event organized by the Moroccan Embassy in Paris in 2007.L’Aouffir, 48, was born in Rabat, where she studied in a French high school before traveling to France in order to pursue her studies in the audiovisual sector.L’Aouffir holds a degree in Modern Literature, Audiovisual, Information Sciences, and Communication. She also worked at France Televisions as a communications officer for the regional and international press for France 2.In 2012, Strauss-Kahn faced sexual harassment complaints after a hotel maid in New York claimed she was sexually assaulted by the former IMF chief.Strauss-Kahn has also been accused by 32-year-old author Tristane Banon of trying to rape her in 2002, but investigators who probed the allegations concluded that while there was prima facie evidence of a sexual assault, the alleged attack had occurred too long ago to be prosecuted, according to AFP.
