Overland Park man will make first appearance in Johnson County court today on charges of murdering wife

first_imgThe Harris’s Overland Park apartment was blocked off as a crime scene Tuesday.Robert Harris’s booking photo in Johnson County Jail.Robert Harris, 30, an Overland Park man who served as a leader of the Repairers Kansas City church in south Kansas City, is in Johnson County Jail this morning on charges of killing his wife, Tanisha Harris, an associate pastor at the church.Overland Park Police and Johnson County investigators had the Harris’s apartment in the 8000 block of Perry Street blocked off as a crime scene on Tuesday. Police were called to the apartment Monday afternoon to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they made contact with a male who appeared to be alone in the apartment. Later that day, however, the man contacted police and reported that his wife was missing. When questioned, the man eventually confessed that he had played a role in her disappearance. Raymore and Belton police worked with Overland Park and Johnson County law enforcement officers to search an area near Kentucky Road in Raymore. They located Tanisha’s body in the early hours of Tuesday morning.Harris is scheduled to make a first appearance in Johnson County District Court, where he is facing first-degree murder charges, at 1:30 p.m. today.Tanisha Harris.
